Privacy Policy
planna is built around a simple idea: your data is yours. This policy covers this website, where the only thing we collect is what you type into the early-access form — in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
1. Who we are
planna is operated by Plan Technologies (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2026/417875/07, South Africa (registered address available from our Information Officer on request). Under POPIA we are the responsible party for the information described here.
Our Information Officer is Igno Ferreira, Founder and Director, registered with the Information Regulator on 3 August 2026 (registration number 2026-063635). You can reach him at [email protected], or use [email protected].
2. What we collect
What you type into the early-access form. Your first name, and:
- Your email address, and your last name and phone number if you give them.
- Whether you are a couple, a vendor or a planner.
- If you are a couple: when the wedding is (a year, or a date), and where you are planning it.
- If you are a vendor or planner: your business name, what you do, the region you work in, and your website or social handle — so we can take a look before we get in touch.
- Which platform you would use, what you are most interested in, and anything you write in the optional "what would you want added" box.
- Whether you ticked the newsletter box, and the date and time you accepted these terms.
If you use the contact form: your name, email address, the role you pick, and your message.
What arrives with the request. The country your request came from, the page that referred you, and any campaign tag in the link you followed. We do not store your IP address and we do not store your device or browser details.
That is the whole list. There is no account to create, no tracking, and nothing is collected by simply reading these pages.
3. Why we collect it, and our lawful basis
- To run the early-access list — to hold your place, to tell you when planna opens, and to send you an invitation. Basis: your consent, given when you ticked the box, and our legitimate interest in running a waiting list.
- To review vendors and planners — to look at your business before we invite you in. Basis: your consent and our legitimate interest.
- To answer you if you use the contact form. Basis: your consent.
- To send the newsletter, only if you ticked that box. It is separate, optional, unticked by default, and you can stop it at any time. Basis: your consent (POPIA §69).
Withdrawing consent is easy and costs you nothing but your place on the list — see section 6.
4. Who processes it, and where
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own purposes. Three providers handle it on our behalf:
- Cloudflare — hosts this site and runs the form endpoint. It sees your IP address in order to serve the page and to block abuse. We never receive or keep it.
- Supabase — stores the entry. The database is hosted in Frankfurt, Germany.
- Resend — emails us to say someone signed up. It is a United States provider. Only the details you submitted are in that email.
Supabase and Resend mean your information leaves South Africa, which POPIA §72 allows where there is an appropriate safeguard. We rely on each provider's data-processing terms, and we hold no personal information anywhere else. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or if planna is ever sold or restructured — in which case we will tell you.
5. How long we keep it
- Your early-access entry: until planna opens to the public. If you have not taken up your invitation twelve months after that, we delete it. If planna has not launched within twenty-four months of you signing up, we delete it then.
- Newsletter consent: for as long as we hold your entry. We keep the date you consented as proof that we had your permission.
- Contact-form messages: twelve months.
- Any of it, sooner: ask us, and we remove it within 30 days.
6. Your rights under POPIA
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what we hold about you, and give you a copy.
- Correct anything that is wrong or out of date.
- Delete your entry, or object to what we are doing with it.
- Stop the newsletter — every one has an unsubscribe link, or just reply and say so.
Email [email protected] and we will act within 30 days. If we get it wrong, you can complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at [email protected].
7. Cookies, analytics and ads
This site sets no cookies of its own. We run no analytics, no session recording and no advertising trackers — there is no measurement code on these pages at all. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie to tell real visitors from bots; it carries no profile of you and is not used for advertising.
If that ever changes, we will update this policy and ask for consent where the law requires it.
8. Security
Everything is sent over an encrypted connection and stored on access-controlled infrastructure. The key used by this website can add an entry to the list and nothing else — it cannot read the list back. If a compromise ever affects your information, POPIA §22 requires us to notify the Information Regulator and to notify you, and we will do both as soon as we reasonably can.
9. Children
planna is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
10. Changes, and contact
If we change what we collect or who processes it, we will update this page and the version above, and tell anyone on the list where the change is material. Questions about privacy or your data: [email protected]. See also our Terms of Service.
